In a significant step towards empowering Kenya’s youth and bridging the gap between education and industry, the IndustryMeetsTalent team met with Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria, the Permanent Secretary (PS) for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The meeting showcased the IndustryMeetsTalent initiative’s groundbreaking approach to addressing industry pain points and creating work and entrepreneurship opportunities for the nation’s youth.

The presentation’s emphasis on action-oriented training, personalized coaching, and industry engagement drew immense interest. Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria extended a gracious invitation to present the initiative to public TVETs, signaling potential nationwide expansion and collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

The general benefit of IndustryMeetsTalent initiative for the stakeholders involved include industries benefiting from a skilled workforce meeting their needs, universities/TVETs enhancing their training programs and curricula to align with industry demands, and participating teams gaining valuable experience and increased employability.

The meeting concluded optimistically, with a commitment to nurturing Kenyan youth’s potential and propelling the nation’s workforce into a successful future. Together, they shape the destiny of the nation’s workforce, opening doors to possibilities for Kenya’s young talents.

About IndustryMeetsTalent Initiative

IndustryMeetsTalent is an initiative run by Next Arabia in partnership with Mastercard Foundation. This initiative aims to solve some of the major industry pain points by leveraging talents and solutions at universities and TVETs.

Unlike traditional approaches that focus on training and education (supply-driven), this initiative focuses on identifying real industry pain points and then using existing or newly developed talents to solve these industry pain points in order to create dignified work and entrepreneurship opportunities (demand-driven).
